Dr. Mackie-Jenkins is a dual Harvard-trained and board-certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Management specialist. Born and raised in Virginia, Dr. Mackie-Jenkins earned his undergraduate degree with distinction at the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols and Jefferson Scholar. After spending a year in Guatemala working in global health development, he returned to the United States and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He is fluent in Spanish and has worked extensively in global health projects internationally.
Dr. Mackie-Jenkins takes great pride in connecting with his patients to define their goals and create treatment plans to enhance each patient’s quality of life. He approaches pain comprehensively and from a multi-disciplinary perspective, utilizing medications (non-opioids), physical therapy, psychological support, interventions/injections and minimally invasive surgical procedures in select patients to effectively treat pain and enhance quality of life according to the latest, most evidence-based guidelines.
